Local Scholarships
FHS provides opportunities for our students to apply for local scholarships administered by organizations and non-profit groups within our community. These scholarships will be updated each spring with up-to-date scholarship applications. All documents listed below in DEADLINE order and are available with direct links to the website, google form or PDF application as applicable.
Please pay attention to the specific details on each application for where each scholarship application is to be turned in and the deadline.

- Communities Foundation of Texas’s 2025-2026 Scholarship Applications are now open! CFT has over 50 scholarship opportunities and will award around $1.5 million in scholarship funds. Below highlights a few of CFT scholarships:
- CREW in the Community Scholarship provides scholarships of up to $5,000 each year to female students who are pursuing a degree in a Qualified Field of Commercial Real Estate at any accredited 2-year or 4-year undergraduate or graduate college or university (Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental, Land Surveying, etc.) Deadline March 1st, 2025.
- The ECLAT Foundation Scholarship provides one-year $2,000 scholarships to graduating seniors or college students who plan to or attend an accredited college or university in the State of Texas. Deadline April 1st, 2025.
- The LIFE Association Trade Scholarship: provides one-year scholarships of up to $5,000 that may be used for tuition books and fees at any accredited community college or nonprofit trade school in the state of Texas to pursue a trade or vocational degree or certification (Ex: firefighting, automotive tech, welding, medical tech, etc.) Deadline May 1st, 2025.
- The John and Rheba Myers Scholarship provides scholarship(s) of up to the full amount of tuition and fees for an academic year, to graduating high school seniors in the Kaufman, Van Zandt, Wood and Smith Counties of Texas, or residents of those counties who are returning to an accredited academic institution of higher learning. Awards may be used to support tuition and fees at any 2-year or 4-year academic institution of higher learner in the United States. There are no limitations on area of study. Deadline April 1st, 2025.
- Texas Tech Scholarships
- Texas Tech Alumni Scholarship - due April 15,2025
- The Texas Tech Alumni Association awards hundreds of scholarships funded by alumni contributions. These scholarships are awarded to deserving incoming freshmen students. TTAA scholarships are awarded based on a variety of factors including ethnicity, academic merit and financial need.
- Tech Tech Parent Association Scholarship - due March 10, 2025
- Texas Tech Parents Association awards thousands of dollars in student scholarships. Scholarships provided by Texas Tech Parents Association advance access to higher education by providing timely financial assistance to students. TTPA scholarships are awarded based on a variety of factors including academic merit, financial need, field of study, and quality of essays.
- Texas Tech Alumni Scholarship - due April 15,2025
- Linda Thomas Safe Driving Scholarship - due March 17, 2025
- To apply, eligible students include:
- Graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into a 2- or 4-year/university or accredited trade school and will be enrolled full-time by the Fall 2025.
- Eligible students who reside or attend a school within NET RMA’s 14 counties: Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Gregg, Harrison, Kaufman, Panola, Rusk, Smith, Titus, Upshur, Wood and Van Zandt.

- The scholarships, in the amounts of $2,500 each, are named in honor of Mary Clift, Ed McMillan, Tommy Tomlinson and Elmer Wynne. The scholarships are named for their many years of volunteer service as directors to the credit union and their dedicated years of service in the field of education.
- The (4) $2,500 scholarships are awarded to high school graduates planning to attend a college or university during the academic year following their high school graduation.

- Trinity Valley Community College Scholarships
- TVCC Board of Trustees Scholarship - FHS Nominee - due March 28, 2025
- TVCC will award one scholarship to an FHS student in the amount of $2000.
- TVCC Foundation Scholarship Application - due April 1, 2025
- The Foundation scholarship requires students to turn in 2 letters of recommendation, an unofficial transcript, as well as a personal essay explaining how these funds will make a difference to them
- TVCC Red Bird Scholarship Application - due April 15, 2025
- The Red Bird Leadership Program is a prestigious scholarship program for students who are outgoing, responsible, respected by their peers, and eager to lead. This opportunity is perfect for students who want to make a difference while gaining leadership experience, earning college credit, and receiving a scholarship.

- TVCC Board of Trustees Scholarship - FHS Nominee - due March 28, 2025
- Trinity Capital Bank Scholarship - due March 31, 2025
- Form should be submitted to the local TCB Branch in Forney or by email as indicated on the application
- TCB/ESB offers scholarships (per branch) to graduating seniors of either Ennis ISD, Sunnyvale ISD, Forney ISD or Crandall ISD. To be considered for these scholarships, graduating applicants must complete the required application and submit it along with the necessary references on or before the specified due date. Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the ESB/TCB Scholarship Committee after interviews with select applicants have been completed.
- Form should be submitted to the local TCB Branch in Forney or by email as indicated on the application
- 2025 Consuela Payne Parker Scholarship - due March 31, 2025
- This scholarship is administered by Zeta Delta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Eligible participants must be graduating high school seniors (male or female) in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex and must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited four-year college or university by the following academic school year. Participants must complete the entire application process, address the package to our Scholarship Chair, Karen Gosby, and mail or email by 3/31/2025.
- Kaufman County A&M Club Scholarship - due April 1, 2025
- The Kaufman County A&M Club will be awarding several scholarships to high school seniors graduating in 2025 throughout the county. The amount of these scholarships will be $1,000.00 each. To be eligible for this scholarship, recipients must attend Texas A&M University, College Station Campus in the Fall of 2025, be residents of Kaufman County, AND graduate from a Kaufman County high school.
- Tanya Nelson Scholarship - due April 1, 2025
- This scholarship will be awarded to a senior on the FHS golf team. Scholarship award is $500-$2000.
- Northeast TX County & District Clerks’ Region VI Scholarship - due April 1, 2025
- For eligible students in Northeast Texas Counties. Scholarship applications must be RECEIVED by mail as indicated in the application by the deadline to be considered.
- Claybon Elementary Scholarship Application - due April 1, 2025
- Claybon Elementary PTO will award one scholarship in the amount of $500 to a senior who attended Claybon Elementary!
- Jake Wilson Memorial Scholarship - due April 1, 2025
- The Jake Wilson Memorial Foundation awards scholarships in memory of Jake Wilson, a Terrell HS graduate to honor his life and legacy.
- Clay Jones Legacy Foundation Scholarship - due April 4, 2025
- The Clay Jones Legacy Foundation awards scholarships with the help of the Jones Family in memory of Clay Jones, former Forney High School student.
- Forney Lions Club Scholarship - due April 4, 2025
- This scholarship is for Forney ISD students! It requires 10 hours of community service with the Forney Lions Club
- AJ Brown Memorial Scholarship - due April 11, 2025 at 4:15 PM
- The family of AJ Brown is awarding this scholarship to an FHS percussion band student in memory of their son, AJ Brown, a former Forney ISD student.
- Farmers Electric Cooperative Scholarship - due 5:00 PM on April 11, 2025
- Farmers Electric Cooperative created the scholarship award program to encourage and assist in the educational pursuits of high school seniors whose parent or legal guardian is an active Farmers EC member.
- Eligible students will have a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.

- Henderson Elementary Scholarship Application - due April 11, 2025
- This scholarship is open to FHS and VA Seniors that attended and graduated from Henderson Elementary.
- Kaufman Chamber Johnny Countryman Memorial Scholarship - due April 14, 2025
- CoServ Electric Scholarship Application - due April 17, 2025
- Two scholarships in the amount of $1000 to be used during the 2025-2026 academic year for tuition, fees, or books.
- Eligibility Requirement: The student must live in a home powered by CoServ Electric Company.
- Pearls by the Lake Foundation Scholarship - due April 20, 2025
This $1000 scholarship is for African American graduating seniors who plan to attend a two year or four year college. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and must attend a high school within Kaufman or Rockwall County.
- COMTO North Texas Scholarship - due April 25, 2025
- The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) is offering scholarships to high school seniors who are pursuing higher education in fields related to transportation which includes: engineering, urban planning, Accounting, Architecture, Business Administration, Communications, Construction Science, Criminal Justice, Education, Environmental Science, Finance, Information Technology, Law, Logistics, Management, Marketing, Political Science, Public Administration, Social Work, Sociology, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, and Urban Planning.
- This scholarship aims to support students from diverse backgrounds in their educational and professional pursuits within the transportation industry.
- 11th District Masonic Lodge Scholarships
- Scholarship Essay Writing Contest-must attend April 26, 2025 8AM-1 PM
- The District 11 Scholarship Essay contest is open to DFW seniors.
- Participants will be required to submit a short essay on the topic given on the day of the event. Judges will deliberate on-site and select winners that will be formally recognized at the District 11 Scholarship Luncheon.
- True Service #399 Scholarship - due April 30, 2025
- Services Mesquite, Forney, Sunnyvale, Garland, Dallas, Wilmer & Seagoville
- Scholarship Amounts range from $500 - $1500
- Eligible students will have a 2.5 GPA or better
- Application packets should include 3 letters of recommendation, record of volunteer hours, and 300-500 word essay “In what way will I aim to impact the future generation?”

- Brooklyn Masonic Lodge #386 Scholarship - due April 30, 2025
- Scholarship will be awarded to one student from Forney ISD
- Scholarship valued at $1000
- Applicants should submit an application and all required documents indicated in application.
- Applications must be postmarked or hand delivered to the lodge by the deadline.
- Cody Lambert Memorial Scholarship - due April 30, 2025
- Play for Em Foundation Scholarships - due April 30, 2025
- The Play for Em Foundation awards scholarships in memory of Emily Galiano to help high school students reach their dreams of attending college.

- Masonic Children & Family Services of Texas - due April 30, 2025
- MCFS has a 125-year legacy of providing hope for Texas youth. Scholarships are valued at $2500 and MCFS will award $500,000 total!
- First State Bank Scholarship - due May 1, 2025 at 4:00 PM
- First State Bank Scholarship Requirements
- First State Bank 2025 Scholarship Application
- First State Bank offers a scholarship yearly to children of First State Bank customers or graduating seniors who are First State Bank customers to aid in college education at Trinity Valley Community College or Navarro College. This scholarship will be in the amount of $1,200. The recipient will receive $1,200.00 in payments of $600.00 per fall and spring semester for one year of college.
- First State Bank Mary Helen Myrick Scholarship - due May 1, 2025 at 4:00 PM
- The Mary Helen Myrick Scholarship has been established to allow deserving young men and women of families with low to moderate income to attend college or technical school by providing a scholarship to help the applicant further their
- education at the college of their choice. The qualification of our scholarship is first and foremost need based.
- First State Bank will present a scholarship certificate to one senior in the amount of $500.00 for their educational opportunities.
- Applications should be completed by the high school students and submitted to the FHS counseling office with all required documents: a letter from two teachers recommending them for the scholarship and a copy of the family’s 1040 tax return for the year 2024.
- Generation Hope Scholarship Program - Deadline extended to May 1, 2025
- Generation Hope provides a $1,200 (2-year colleges)/ $2,400 (4-year universities) annual scholarship plus mentoring, crisis assistance, free tutoring, free mental health support, emergency funding, career coaching, and more to young parents pursuing college degrees. The application deadline has been extended to May 1st, so don't wait to submit your application! The application can be found here.
- To be eligible, you must have been pregnant or expecting at 19 or younger (open to moms and dads!), currently be 25 or younger, and pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. The program is open to all nonprofit colleges within the DFW area, so if you are transferring to a four-year college in the area next year, you can still apply.
- Forney Arts Council Arts Scholarship - due May 1, 2025
- The FAC scholarship program allows us to recognize excellence in the youth arts community and overall community involvement. In addition, we hope to encourage Forney graduating seniors who have an interest in or passion for the arts to continue their arts education and pursue those fields of study in their college careers.

- Johnson Elementary School Alumni Scholarship - due May 2, 2025
- Sponsored by: Johnson Elementary PTO
- Johnson Elementary PTO will award 2 scholarships in the amount of $500 each
- To be eligible, applicants MUST have ATTENDED Johnson Elementary for at least 4 years and are graduating from FISD in the 24-25 school year.
