Why should I apply for scholarships? 

 

Scholarships give you a chance to earn free money for college — money that you don’t have to pay back. Scholarships can help lower the cost of your education, reduce or eliminate the need for student loans, and ease financial stress so you can focus more on your studies and goals. 

 

There are scholarships available for all kinds of students. Whether you’re involved in sports, community service, leadership, the arts, or just have a unique story, there’s likely a scholarship for you. Applying takes time, but the potential rewards are worth it!

Don't forget ...

Many scholarships will come directly from the college/university. Visit your college/university’s financial aid office or website. Many colleges/universities offer:

• Departmental scholarships (e.g., for specific majors)
• Need-based aid
