WashU Rural Scholars Academy Washington University in St. Louis

This is a weeklong, no cost, pre-college program designed to introduce rising juniors (students between sophomore and junior year in high school) to WashU, the college application process, and the greater St. Louis community.

Seeds of Fortune, Inc's Yale Women In Economics Program "SEED SCHOLARS"

This program is a unique opportunity for rising high school female juniors who want to become financially literate and excel in their academic and professional pursuits. Selected participants receive $2000 to cover the cost of program fees. Participants attend a week long College-Prep Expereince with Yale Women in Economics, Research project and admissions visit.  In addiiton, they participate in Fall and Spring college workshops.   Eligible students must identify as a female student of color (African American, Asian American, Latino, or Native American), have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and have a household income that does not exceed $125,000.

The Admissions Office has extended their Free Application code for students through November 14th.  Students should apply at BecomeAJaguar.com in order to use the code.   Please see your counselor to get the code!

College Admissions - How to apply?

ApplyTexas - Once you have found your college of choice, use the Apply Texas portal to apply to any Texas college or university. 

Common App - When applying to a university outside of Texas, explore the Common App. It gives instant access to almost 900 colleges and universities around the world.

The CoalitionUse this application to apply to one of the 150+partner top colleges and universities. 

 

Transcript Requests

Do you need your transcript sent to a college? Click on the "Transcript Requests" link above and create an account to send your transcripts.  This link to Parchment, our vendor, to safely send transcripts electronically to the schools of your choice.  Your first transcript is free, and any transcript after that is $1.00

 

College Portals

Once you apply to a college, they should send you information on setting up a student portal for their campus.  In this account, you will be able to check the status of your application and supporting materials, access scholarship applications, and in some cases, access scholarship applications.  If admitted, this account will either add additional access items or you will set up an admitted student portal that will allow you to apply for housing, check financial aid, and complete enrollment steps.  Please make sure you check your email for the colleges and check these portals REGULARLY.  This is where all of the important information and processes will happen for each campus.  WRITE DOWN YOUR USERNAME, PASSWORD and the link to access the site so you have them and can easily login.
